About Kendra

Kendra has been teaching private and group music lessons for over 3 years. She began piano lessons at the age of six, violin lessons at age ten, and has been in love with music ever since.

In high school, Kendra was an active performer and competitor. She participated in many prestigious music competitions, including concerto competitions and the Terrace Hill Piano Competition. As a violinist, Kendra was selected for many honors, including a performance as a featured young artist in the Zenith Chamber Music Festival, as well as performing as first chair violinist in the Des Moines Youth Symphony. She also performed as a soloist with the Cherokee Symphony Orchestra in both piano and violin, playing Zigeunerweisen on violin and the Tchaikovsky Piano Concerto.

Currently, Kendra is studying piano and violin performance at Drake University. She has performed as a first violinist with the Drake Symphony Orchestra and is involved with chamber music groups and accompanying. She is also an active church musician on both piano and violin.

As a music teacher, Kendra strives to help each student find their unique strengths and abilities in music. She encourages and equips students to embrace their musical journey while also challenging them to grow in their musicianship.

Outside of music, Kendra enjoys making boba tea, traveling, and long-distance running. Each June, you will find her running the Bighorn Ultra-marathon.
